Need an editor? I can help.
When I was a little girl, the local library was a favorite haunt of my family, and I devoured whatever I found there. Picture books, nonfiction, novels—I wanted it all. One summer, I read my way through the library’s entire list of time-slip fantasies. That was an amazing summer! This love of reading stayed with me throughout my young adulthood, and led me to major in English Literature and Language at Harvard.

Despite my love of reading, though, I had no idea that it was even possible to become an editor and actually help make books until college was beginning to wind down. Once I made that discovery, though, there was no turning back. My first real job was as an assistant in Little, Brown’s children’s book group. I then moved on to  Candlewick Press, working my way up to being a full editor there, and spending my days editing the same kinds of books I loved as a girl—picture books, nonfiction, and novels. For more than a decade, I've been a part of the wonderful editorial team at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt’s Books for Young Readers.

Not only do I edit children’s books, I write them, too! I’m the author of three picture books—Panda-Monium, A Little Bit of Love, and the upcoming Grow—as well as numerous Curious George books. I also have an MFA in creative writing from Lesley University, for which I focused on young adult literature and writing. Being both an editor and a writer has given me a unique perspective on the world of children’s books.

I have more than twenty years of publishing experience, and books for young readers are my passion as well as my career. So whether you’ve got multiple books under your belt already, are thinking of self publishing, or are just getting started with your first manuscript, I’d love to use the editorial skills and knowledge of children’s publishing I’ve gained over two decades to help you continue to grow as a writer.
